Tales of Resistance – Earth First! Food and film fundraiser

23rd June 2019 @ 12:00 – 16:00

In 1996, the Battle of the Newbury Bypass was one of the defining moments of the struggle against the government’s road building programme.

This film, created from hundreds of hours of footage, as well as recent interviews, tells the inspiring story of that battle, from the activist’s point of view.

Watch the film, have a tasty vegan lunch **prepared by two professional chefs** and help raise money for the Earth First! Summer Gathering which takes place in mid-August (see below)

Food at 12noon, Film at 1.00pm.
Meals will be £7 **prepared by two professional chefs**.
Free entry for film only. Donations welcome.
We will also be selling some Earth First merch. Get your hands on an awesome hoodie or t-shirt!

The Earth First! Summer Gathering takes place 14-20 August, in the North East England. It’s 6 days of skill-sharing for grassroots ecological direct action and animal rights – make links, share ideas, and get involved in the struggles against fracking, coal, nuclear, new roads and more. This year’s gathering will take place in solidarity with anti-coal resistance in the north-east – with some fun stuff happpening after the weekend!
